Join us for a unique tour of the beautiful Her Majesty's Theatre in Melbourne.

As soon as you pass through the grand entrance doors, you enter another era. Leaving the fuss and babble of the modern world behind, you are wrapped in timeless beauty.  Feel the smooth, classical styling of the grand staircase handrail which takes you on a journey up to the dress and grand circles to start you her Majesty’s experience. Look up to the superb recessed circular moulds of the ceiling in the Melba Foyer complete with stunning geometric lights.  The feel of soft velvet seating, combined with the rich crimson and gold interior are welcoming and indulgent, perfectly suited to a night of majestic entertainment.

Her Majesty’s Theatre, owned by Mike Walsh AM OBE, is the premium theatre in the East End Theatre District, which was formed in 2014. This is the most extensive theatre district in the world outside of Broadway and the West End, and is the theatrical heart of Melbourne.

Known as the home to all Melbourne’s great musicals, Her Majesty’s Theatre also presents opera, ballet, plays and concerts as well as private events and functions.

From the original, elegant façade of the 1886 building through to the superb Art Deco luxury of the renovated interior of the 1930s, Her Majesty’s Theatre wears her style well and she welcomes you to share it with her.

A tour of all levels of the theatre, under the stage, back stage and on stage, followed by a Devonshire Tea in the Maj Café.

There are no lifts at HMT and you will need to negotiate quite a few stairs. Dress comfortably and in shoes suitable for walking, preferably closed toes. No high heels on stage please and definitely no thongs.
