Day 1 - Friday 15 November 2019

Melbourne to Norfolk Island via Sydney (D)

Welcome to Sisterhood Womens Travel.  An early start this morning as you meet your hostess and fellow travellers at the Melbourne Airport for your flght to Norfolk Island via Sydney.  Sit back, relax and enjoy your flight.  Arriving into Norfolk Island early afternoon we'll be transferred to our accommodation Castaway's, with time to settle in and explore before enjoying a 2 course dinner at our hotel restaurant tonight.  Welcome to Norfolk Island!

Day 2 - Saturday 16 November 2019

Norfolk Island (B,MT,D)

This morning a must for all visitors to Norfolk Island with a half day Island sightseeing tour.  We'll visit Historic Kingston, Cascade, Longridge and more. We'll see and hear about the famous Convict Buildings, enjoy views of the beautiful beaches, visit the renowned Melanesian Chapel and learn about the Government laws and Island lifestyle. We'll enjoy views from scenic spots on this full commentary tour.   We'll rest for delicious morning tea in the garden of an historic island home built by Fletcher Quintal a descendant of “Bounty” mutineer Fletcher Christian & Matthew Quintal.  After our sightseeing tour a free afternoon to continue our exploring.

Tonight we'll enjoy a 2 course dinner at Dino's Restaurant.

Day 3 - Sunday 17 November 2019

Norfolk Island (B,D)

This morning after breakfast, we'll enjoy some leisure time with the opportunity to visit the local Sunday Markets, just a short walk from our accommodation.

Later this morning we'll enjoy The Cyclorama - Experience the totally unique 360° panoramic painting that will take you on an amazing journey.  Feel like you’re really there witnessing the Bounty adventures and discover how the world’s most famous mutiny created the Pitcairn and Norfolk communities. Conceived by Norfolk Islander Marie Bailey, this gigantic panoramic painting vividly illustrates the story of her ancestor Fletcher Christian, the famous Mutiny on the Bounty and the descendants who settled on Pitcairn and Norfolk Island. A spectacular 3D effect is achieved with realistic perspective and detailed artwork stretching all the way to visitor’s feet.  Storyboards, lists and maps explain the history in an easy to understand way.

With time for lunch before we visit Christian Brothers Cheese Company, a boutique dairy and cheese producer started by two island brothers - Glen and John Christian.  Our tour will take us through a local farm with beautiful ocean views.  We'll meet the cows, try the milking machine, see beehives and hear how the local honey is produced.  Our tour travels to Glen's house where we'll sample a range of cheeses with tasty condiments and beverages on the verandah enjoying scenic ocean and valley views. A quick visit to a local sawmill is also an added bonus.

Tonight we'll regroup and enjoy a lovely two course dinner at Hili's Restaurant.

Day 4 - Monday 18 November 2019

Norfolk Island (B,D)

Today is a free day for you to discover unexplored areas of Norfolk Island.  Hire cars can be arranged through Castaway's to visit other points of interest.  You might like to explore the small downtown area of Norfolk Island for some souvenir shopping or once again if the weather suits head down to Emily Bay for a day of swimming and sunbaking.  The choice is yours.  

Tonight - one of the best ways to really get to know the locals - a progressive dinner to different Norfolk Island family homes.  A fun night and a great way to sample some of the many island dishes amongst new friends.

Day 5 - Tuesday 19 November 2019

Norfolk Island (B,D)

This morning we'll enjoy a visit to Hili Goat Farm.  The Norfolk Wey! Makers of Artisan Cheese & food grown, picked and cooked with love!  Emily & her family will welcome you to the Hilli Goat Farm.  Located at stunning Anson Bay, you will learn the history of the family farm and Hilli Goat business.  Join in on the milking of the goats, as collect the milk and then see the cheese making pricess next door in the Cheese room.  Test & sample the organic skincare products developed for sensitive and problem skin. It is suggested you come on the tour with a hungry tummy, and they will ensure you leave bally ap!

The rest of the day is free until our early evening Island Fish Fry dinner that night - We'll enjoy a feast of Island dishes, salads, homemade bread and fresh fried fish followed by desserts and tea/coffee.  We'll have the chance to admire the sunset from Puppy's Point on Norfolk's beautiful western coastline. A lovely way to end another day in Paradise!

Day 6 - Wednesday 20 November 2019

Norfolk Island (B,D)

This morning we'll enjoy a beautifully scenic breakfast bush walk.  Take your choice of an easy stroll through a 100 acre reserve or for the more energetic a 3.5km walk through scenic Mt Bates to the Captain Cook Monument. Beautiful views of the coast will delightl.  At the end of both walks we'll meet on the cliff top for a delicious BBQ breakfast. 

A free morning to enjoy.

This afternoon we'll enjoy an Island Culture Tour.  From Mutineer ancestors and Tahitian wives came the arts of wood craft, weaving, cooking and the Norfolk Language.  On this tour you'll see a woodturning demonstration using Norfolk timber and visit an Island home to learn all about local cooking.  An island weaving demonstration and a fun lesson on the Norfolk language will follow an afternoon tea break.

Tonight we'll enjoy a 2 course dinner at Garden Restaurant, Castaways.

Day 7 - Thursday 21 November 2019

Norfolk Island (B,D,LS)

This morning after breakfast we'll enjoy a tour of acclaimed author Colleen McCullogh's home.  Colleen McCullough, world renowned author of 24 books called Norfolk Island home for almost 36 years. Sadly, Colleen passed away in 2015 and her beloved property “Out Yenna” is now open for tours exclusively to Baunti Escapes.  We'll visit her magnificent home and Colleen’s priceless collection of artefacts gathered on her travels all over the world. We will see where her books were researched and where Norfolk Island pies were made from local eggs and fruit in season. This a glimpse into the life of a modern day literary icon. If you have read her amazing books, you will love the experience of sharing the world of Colleen McCullough, author of “Tim”, “The Thornbirds” and “Morgan’s Run”.  

Our last afternoon free to take in any last minute sights before coming together for our Farewell Dinner at the Garden Hotel, Castaways.  

After dinner this evening, we'll enjoy Wonderland by Night - one of Norfolk's most popular attractions.  The setting is 10 acres of magical Norfolk pines & bushland lit up like an enchanted forest.  Meander along (or ride in the ‘moon buggy’) a gentle winding path with a descendant of the Bounty mutineers, as he recites his poems and lights up the dioramas.  Afterwards enjoy a light supper before returning to our hotel.

Day 8 - Friday 22 November 2019

Farewell Norfolk Island - Home (B)

After breakfast, with time to pack, we'll check out of our hotel and begin our journey home to Melbourne via Sydney.  Sit back, relax and reminisce about great times shared with new friends.  A late arrival into Melbourne (approx 9.05pm).  Thank you for joining us for your latest adventure and we look forward to welcoming you back!
