Itinerary
Day 1 - Friday 9 June 2023
Melbourne - Auckland (meals in flight)
Welcome to Sisterhood Womens Travel. Meet your Tour Hostess and fellow travellers at Melbourne Airport for your flight to Rarotonga via Auckland. We'll overnight in Auckland before returning to the airport to continue on for our flight to Rarotonga. Due to crossing the international date line we will arrive into Rarotonga early afternoon the same day (Friday 9 June).
With time to explore our resort, freshen up and enjoying a welcome dinner.

Day 2 - Saturday 10 June 2023
Punanga Nui Market (B,D)
This morning after breakfast we'll enjoy a visit to the Punanga Nui Market at Avatiu. Rarotonga’s Saturday Punanga Nui Market offers a wide range of island gifts and handicrafts, black pearls, pearl shell, jewellery, pareu fabrics, clothing, local music and fresh local produce. It’s a great place to sample homemade delicacies or just to pass the time meeting and chatting with the locals.
We return to our resort for lunch and an afternoon at leisure.
There's plenty of complimentary activities at our resort including snorkelling, fish feeding and guided village and nature walks.
Dinner tonight - enjoy an island BBQ and Fire Dance Show

Day 3 - Sunday 11 June 2023
Exploring Rarotonga (B,D)
After breakfast we'll visit a local historic church with morning tea and a tour. It is often a moving experience as we share in a local Cook Islands' Christian Church service and hear a whole congregation filling the beautiful historic limestone and coral church with the soaring harmonies of their hymn singing.
The rest of our day is free to relax. Read a book, go swimming, enjoy your 30 minute complimentary massage or just take time out and enjoy your tropical surrounds.
Tonight we'll enjoy a Sunday BBQ Under the Stars at the Edgewater Resort & Spa with resident band Ru and the Boys.

Day 4 - Monday 12 June 2023
Exploring Rarotonga (B,D)
Today we have the morning at leisure.
After lunch today, we'll enjoy a half-day 4WD Raro Mountain Safari tour to discover the heart of Rarotonga. We'll learn about life on the island as we climb out-of-the-way tracks, see panoramic vistas and explore the scenic back country roads in your 4WD Jeep with colourful commentary from experienced local guides.
Dinner tonight at Tamarind House, Rarotonga’s delightful eatery, owned by former Flame Tree restaurateur and cookbook author, Sue Carruthers, housed in a colonial building on the Pacific Ocean foreshore at Tupapa.

Day 5 - Tuesday 13 June 2023
Exploring Rarotonga (B,L,D)
After breakfast we'll have a full day's Koka Lagoon Cruise including lunch. Enjoy viewing the wonderful marine life in Rarotonga's lagoons through a glass bottom boat, snorkel with the fish then relax with a beach barbeque on a beautiful uninhabited island. This will be a fantastic day - don't forget your bathers and sun block!
Tonight we enjoy a progressive dinner, a fabulous way to meet and mingle with the locals.

Day 6 - Wednesday 14 June 2023
Exploring Rarotonga (B,L,D)
This morning after breakfast, we'll enjoy a visit to a local school. A relaxed way to see real life in the Cook Islands and a lovely way to engage with the school kids (feel free to donate books, pencils etc to the school, as it is always much appreciated.
Afterwards, we'll enjoy the Highland Paradise - "Footsteps of our Ancestors" tour. Discover magnificent King Tinomana's life story and hidden mountain village brought to life by his descendants. Highlights of the tour are the Ancient Sacred Marae and Navigators Rock. After a traditional Umu lunch (included) we return to our resort for some more rest & relaxation.
Tonight, dinner will be a "Taste of Italy" in the South Pacific.
Later tonight, we depart for the airport for our flight back to Auckland and then on to Australia. We'll receive a boxed breakfast in preparation for our flight.
Day 7 - Thursday 15 June 2023
Rarotonga - Auckland (B, in flight meals)
We head towards Auckland and the International Date Line heading back to Melbourne.
Day 8 - Friday 16 June 2023
Welcome Home!
On arrival into Auckland, we connect with our flights to Australia.
