Itinerary
DAY ONE
Torquay, Apollo Bay, and Otway Ranges
Meet your hostess and driver on the corner of Spencer St and Lonsdale St. at 8.00am. Arrive in Torquay at 9.30am for a morning tea break. See the sights of Torquay, Bells Beach, and the Memorial Arch at the beginning of the Great Ocean Road on our way to Lorne. Cruise through the Lorne township to the cascading Erskin Falls and rainforest track, before turning back towards the sweeping coastal views from Teddy's Lookout, where the surf breaks into the mouth of the St. George River. Our lunch destination is the beautiful village of Apollo Bay, set in the foothills of the Otways. Check into our accommodation at Apollo Bay after lunch, followed by free time to explore the town for the remainder of the day until dinner.
DAY TWO
12 Apostles, Port Campbell
Following breakfast on day 2, we will head north to the outskirts of town up to Marriners Lookout to be rewarded with spectacular ocean and hinterland views. As the Great Ocean Road leaves the coast and meanders through the Otway Ranges, the scenery becomes a backdrop of rain forests and wooded hiking trails, dotted with Aboriginal history. We will reach the 12 Apostles, Victoria's most famous rock formation of limestone stacks around 11.30am, allowing plenty of time to walk, explore, and photograph this splendour of nature. Our final destination is the colourful and lively seaside village of Port Campbell. Sheltered by cliffs and Norfolk pines, this vibrant town welcomes travellers with fashionable cafes, local specialty stores and galleries, and homemade treats. There will be free time to wander around the town and build up an appetite for a local luncheon.
Depart Port Campbell at 2.30pm and arrive in Melbourne at the corner of Spencer St and Lonsdale St around 5.30pm
