Lord Howe Island is one of the most naturally beautiful islands in the world with its long Fiji-blue lagoon protected by the world's most southerly coral reef and two mountains that wouldn't look out of place in Tahiti. It's a barefoot kind of place, a place to get back to simple pleasures, and perfect for adventure travellers and nature-lovers.
This tour requires a medium level of fitness due to the walking activities. Walking Poles are recommended.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Saturday 16 September 2023
Melbourne - Sydney - Lord Howe (D)
Meet your Sisterhood Tour Hostess at the Melbourne Airport for our flight to Lord Howe Island (via Sydney).
Upon our arrival into beautiful Lord Howe we'll be transferred to our accommodation for the next 6 nights hosted by Anthony and Judy from Leanda Lei Apartments.
Tonight we'll enjoy an interesting Lord Howe Island slide show follwed by dinner at The Bowling Club.
Day 2 - Sunday 17 September 2023

Breakfast is served between 8.00am - 9.00am
This morning after our breakfast at the Coral Café. Today we explore the northern aspects of the the Island.
9:30am North Bay Turtle Tour
View the fish and coral of the world's most southern coral reef as you cruise slowly to beautiful North Bay. Drift over the wreck of the "Favorite" on our purpose-built glass bottom vessel "Adventure One". While at North Bay the adventurous can snorkel the wreck, take a short climb up Mt Eliza with its panoramic views, walk to the old Gluch and Herring Pools, View the sea bird rookery (seasonal), swim or just sit and laze the day away. Cruise includes morning/ afternoon refreshments and historical commentary by a 6th generation islander. Packed lunch included.

Day 3 - Monday 18 September 2023

9am Chase 'n' Thyme Island Tours
Come with your hosts Janine and Peter Phillips on a fun and informal bus tour of Lord Howe Islands more interesting nooks and crannies! Janine is a fifth generation Islander her Great Grandfather was an American whaler, Nathan Chase Thompson who settled on the Island in the 1850's. Peter has had a number of his photos and stories punlished as well as writing a book on the Islands history. You will learn more on a three-hour tour with us than if you spent a week searching things out by yourself.
2:30pm Around Island Cruise
This morning after breakfast we view the Island the way it was discovered, from the sea, on our two-hour around the island cruise aboard “Lulawai”. View North Head Cave and cruise along the magnificent volcanic cliffs and spectacular mountain bases. Pass close by the Admiralty Isles and the thousands of sea birds which regularly nest there. This weather dependant cruise includes commentary.

Day 4 - Tuesday 19 September 2023

Breakfast is served at the Coral Cafe between 8.00am – 9.00am, before enjoying a free morning
2:30pm Coral viewing with Environmental Tours
Come and experience Lord Howe Islands World Heritage marine environment on the glass bottom boat. A two hour tour that caters for everyone. Sit in comfort and view a marine paradise or snorkel Erscott's Hole and be amazed at the island's incredible marine biodiversity. Observe a natural feeding event that will attract some of the reefs larger and more exotic fish species. Tour operates within sheltered waters of the lagoon according to weather, viewing conditions and tide. Snorkeling equiptment provided.

Day 5 - Wednesday 20 September 2023

Morning at leisure.
2pm Peter Phippips Walking Tour
Joun peter on a relaxed 3km (3- hour many photo/info stops) environmental history tour, passing through lovelu forests, mutton bird rookery, cliff top views, giant banyans, see valley of shadows, clear place and Balls Pyramid. We start from the much younger land forms where most residents live and into more ancient areas. Lord Howe is slowly dissappearing. This will be explained and why its sister islands have long gone. A great island intorduction - learn about the palm and tourist industry, flora, bush tucker and medicine, birds, volcanic history, snippets of colourful local history and more. Many say it is the best walking they have ever done.

Enhoy a historical film in the local hall before dinner.

Day 6 - Thursday 21 September 2023

9:30am Little Island Walking Tour
We take you to the fascinating mountains end of the Island, to begin a 1km level stroll to the base of the mountains; Little Islands and where the lagoons reef come’s to its southern end. Rock was obtained here for the building of the airstrip and the start to Mt Gower walk. Woodhens are often seen and can be fed. After a rest to enjoy the views and a photo or two, we stroll back. Our walk is an unhurried 2 hours approx. What better way to enjoy a day; nice walk and great company. We then have time to to explore popular Ned's Beach. After our walk, enjoy lunch at Coral Cafe.
Before dinner tonight, we'll enjoy an historical film in the local hall.

Day 7 - Friday 22 September 2023
Lord Howe - Sydney - Melbourne (B,L)
This morning after breakfast, we have some free time for a last minute stoll down to the Museum or perhaps a walk through Steven's Reserve. We enjoy a light lunch at Coral Cafe before being transferrred to the airport for our flight home to Melbourne (via Sydney).
