**TIPPING**
Local tipping is customary in Morocco. Sisterhood Womens Travel's tipping system on all Group Tours involves passengers contributing to a kitty which is paid to the tour hostess at the beginning of the tour who then distributes it daily to service providers on your behalf. This avoids the need for you to consider individual tipping situations daily throughout your trip. The estimated amount for your tour is USD150.00 and this will be confirmed in your final documentation.
Notice
The accommodation throughout our itinerary may differ in star rating due to location. We stay in a mix of riads, kasbahs and hotels which may have different sized rooms. We will endeavour to be fair with the room allocations. Some of our accommodation may be basic in style whilst others may be more opulent. This is all part of the Moroccan experience. Riads will have stairs and not often lifts so be prepared for the physicality of getting to and from your room on occasion. You will be expected to carry your own luggage to your room unless you are prepared to tip a porter.

Welcome to Sisterhood Womens Travel. Join your Sisterhood Tour Hostess Dawn Caputo and fellow travellers at the Melbourne Airport between Virgin and International Departures no later than 7.30 pm for your flight to Casablanca Sit back, relax, enjoy your flight and prepare yourself for adventure.

We arrive in Casablanca and will be transferred to our hotel. With the remainder of the day at leisure to settle in, we’ll come together tonight for dinner at our hotel.

Day 3 - Monday 23 October 2023
Casablanca (B,D)
Today we’ll enjoy a half day guided sightseeing tour of Casablanca including the Hassan II Mosque, Ville Nouveau and the Avenue Corniche. With a free afternoon we’ll regroup again for dinner tonight at our hotel.

Day 4 - Tuesday 24 October 2023
Casablanca to Chefchaouen (B,L,D)
Today we'll make our way to the beautiful city of Chefchaouen. Beautifully perched beneath the raw peaks of the Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen is one of the prettiest towns in Morocco, an artsy, blue-washed mountain village that feels like its own world. While tourism has definitely taken hold, the balance between ease and authenticity is just right. The old medina is a delight of Moroccan and Andalucian influence with red-tiled roofs, bright-blue buildings and narrow lanes converging on busy Plaza Uta el-Hammam and its restored kasbah. Enroute to Chef we'll enjoy lunch at Tetouan before arriving in later afternoon. With Dinner at our riad tonight.

Day 5 - Wednesday 25 October 2023
Chefchaouen (B,D)
Today we'll enjoy a guided tour of Chefchaouen. The beautiful blue washed walls will be a sight with other highlights including the Spanish Mosque and the Grande Mosque. We'll visit the cobbled Plaza Uta el Hammam, the heart of the medina lined with shops and cafes. After our tour we'll have the remainder of the day at leisure to continue our exploring. Dinner tonight at our riad.

Today a free day in Chefchaouen to continue to explore, to shop or to enjoy a spa treatment or two. Your Sisterhood hostess can point you in the right direction with activities for the day. Tonight we'll regroup to enjoy dinner at our riad and share the day's experiences.

Chefchaouen / Meknes / Fes (B,L)
Today we depart Chefchaouen for Fes. We visit the ancient Roman Ruins of Volubulis before enjoying lunch at the Scorpion House in nearby Moulay Idriss. Continuing onto Meknes before arriving into Fes, our accommodation will be the gorgeous Riad Le Jardin des Biehn with dinner at leisure tonight.

Today we start our day with a guided tour of the Fes Medina, including the main historical sites and off the beaten track artisanal workshops and Islamic gardens. After lunch (own cost) an afternoon at leisure to continue to explore. Our dinner tonight will be on the terrace of the Palais de Fes Dar Tazi.

Today is a free day to soak up our surrounds or return to explore the Medina. There are plenty of opportunities to shop for souvenirs and handicrafts today or perhaps you might like to just relax at our beautiful Riad.

Day 10 - Monday 30 October 2023
Fez - Merzouga (B,D)
A long day today on the road. We depart Fez for Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert, experiencing spectacular views of cedar forests enroute, We travel through Ifrane, spotting barbary apes as we go through Midelt enroute to the Sahara. Lunch (own cost) today as we travel through the Ziz Valley and view the Efous oasis which offers amazing photographic opportunities. We arrive late in the afternoon for our night in Merzouga, Our Accommodation is Riad Serai is situated on the fringe of the Sahara. Make the most of our surrounds and enjoy a pre-dinner drink as the sun sets over the Sahara.

Day 11 - Tuesday 31 October 2023
Sahara Desert Luxury Camp (B,L,D)
A free morning so take the opportunity to explore the surrounding desert areas. This afternoon after a BBQ Lunch at Oasis Tisserdmine, our guide will take us into the desert by 4WD where upon arrival at our luxury desert camp we’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a camel ride at sunset (Please have MAD100 approx AUD15 as a tip for your cameleer) (Departure time will be weather dependent, the hotter the day the later we will depart for comfort). While our host prepares our evening meal feel free to star gaze, enjoying the silence. Why not enhance your bucket list experience by sleeping out under the stars! We’ll only need our essentials in the desert so best to take a small backpack and the rest of our luggage will be left at our hotel. (There are full ensuite facilities in each tent/room).

Tinehir/Todra & Dades Gorges (B,L,D)
An early start this morning to see the amazing sunrise over the dunes, After breakfast, we'll return to Riad Serai to collect our luggage before departing for Tinghir. Heading towards the Valley of the Roses via the Todra and Dades Gorges where the crystal-clear river emerging from the deep ochre and pink rock formations offers a dramatic landscape and great photographic opportunities. Stopping en route to enjoy lunch upon arrival into Tinghir, we’ll enjoy a short tour to give us an overview of the ancient Berber culture and heritage that exists in this region.

Day 13 - Thursday 2 November 2023
Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate (B,D)
This morning, we continue onto Ouarzazate where we will visit the impressive UNESCO World Heritage Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, home to many movie backdrops including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Jewel of the Nile and the new Gladiator II which is currently being filmed. After lunch we’ll visit Kasbah Taourirt, once one of the largest Kasbahs of the area, and once home to members of the Glaoui Dynasty, who once ruled the vicinity.

After breakfast this morning, we travel west towards Taroudant, known as the ‘grandmother of Marrakech’. We’ll enjoy a guided tour through the medina and souks.

Ouirgane (B,D)
Today we’ll travel into the High Atlas Mountains and spend time in the Ouirgane region. Here we’ll discover traditional Berber life, the Tassa Ouirgane National Park, the Toubkal National Park and some of the most spectacular scenery to be found in Morocco. Our next 2 days will be spent doing as little or as much as you like in the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains.

Today is a free day to relax and soak up our wonderful surrounds, Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the countryside. A great day to reflect on the wonderful journey travelled so far. For those who like to be on the go, the hotel offers optional activities including hiking by foot or by mule or visiting a neighbouring village, as well as a beautiful pool to chill out by. Dinner tonight at our accommodation.

Day 17 - Monday 6 November 2023
Ouirgane - Marrakech (B,L,D)
This morning we’ll visit the working co-operatives, with demonstrations by the local Berber women. These co-operatives, set up through independent and government funding allow the women of the region to support themselves and be sustainably independent as well as providing the opportunity for literacy education.
We'll enjoy a Moroccan BBQ lunch before setting off for magical Marrakech early afternoon. In the evening we’ll be free to take a wander through the souks and enjoy the famous Jemaa el Fna Square. Be mesmerised by snake charmers, storytellers and other great spectacles that may cross our path.

Day 18 - Tuesday 7 November 2023
Marrakech (B,D)
While Marrakech is alive with modern life and development, it is also home to a wealth of buildings, sites and artifacts of crucial importance to Moroccan history. Founded almost 1000 years ago, Marrakech is a feast for the senses and has remained the heart of Moroccan life ever since. Acting as the Sultanate capital on occasion and undoubtedly the country’s cultural centre. Our Sightseeing today includes Koutoubia Minaret and gardens, Marjorelle Jardin, the YSL museum, Dar El Bacha Museum, Ben Youssef School and El Bahia Palace. With the remainder of the day free to explore at leisure.

Today we’ll enjoy a hands-on cooking class at La Maison Arabe Medina. Then an afternoon free to continue to discover the magic of Marrakech. Time to explore the vibrant and colourful city of Marrakech, the medina souks and chilling out around Jemaa El Fna.

Today is a fabulous treat. We’ll spend the morning indulging in a Moroccan Hammam (spa) experience including a luxurious massage and beauty treatments using traditional Moroccan products and oils at the beautiful La Maison Arabe. This afternoon, we’ll enjoy a perfume workshop by one of Marrakech’s oldest perfumers.

Today we’ll have a leisurely morning before departing for Essaouira an outstanding and well-preserved example of a mid-18th-century fortified seaport town known for its stunning blue-doored architecture. En route we’ll enjoy a winery tour, tasting and lunch at Domain Val Du Argan Winery. Arriving in Essaouira early afternoon.

Essaouria - Casablanca (via El Jaddida) (B,D)
Today we’ll travel back to Casablanca taking rest stops and a lunch break along the way to arrive back into Casablanca with time to freshen up for our “Farewell” Morocco dinner being held at Rick’s Cafe from the movie Casablanca. A cool and very sophisticated restaurant that is rich in architecture and details reminiscent of the film. A lovely way to end our fabulous visit to Morocco. Overnight in Casablanca.
