Moderate Fitness Level Required
A moderate level of fitness will be required for this tour due to the length and overall physicality of the itinerary. You can expect to walk more than 10,000 steps a day on more challenging terrain and for longer periods. As this tour is based mainly around train transportation, there will be some walking between hotels and train stations. Your luggage will be transported to the relevant hotels.

Day 1 - Sunday 11 May 2025
Melbourne - Zurich (In flight meals)
Welcome to Sisterhood Womens Travel.
Your tour hostess and fellow travellers will meet you at the designated departure point at Melbourne Airport for our flight to Zurich

Day 2 - Monday 12 May 2025
Zurich - Lucerne (D)
Upon arrival at Zurich airport, we will be met by our tour manager who will stay with us throughout the tour. Zurich's views alone of the old, colourful architecture along the Limmat River, the snow-capped mountains in the distance, and serene Lake Zurich – are reason enough to visit this beautiful city. We will be taken to the city centre for a short guided tour to enjoy the main sights such as the Fraumunster, Town Hall and Grossmunster. Afterwards, we will head to Lucerne where we will overnight.

Day 3 - Tuesday 13 May 2025
Lucerne (B, D)
In the morning we will have a guided walking tour through Lucerne. During the tour, we will see the Chapel Bridge, Rathaus (the town hall) and the Lion Monument.
We will also visit the Glacier Garden and view the Bucherer watchmaker, the church of St. Leodegar and the old city wall.
An afternoon at leisure.

Day 4 - Wednesday 14 May 2025
Lucern - Interlaken - Wengen (B)
This morning, our luggage will be picked up at the hotel so that we can travel via the spectacular Golden Pass Railway to Interlaken. The Golden Pass rail journey in Switzerland offers an exquisite experience of scenic beauty. Traversing through lush green valleys, picturesque alpine villages, and serene lakes, it presents a mesmerising panorama at every turn. We'll be treated to breathtaking views of Switzerland's majestic landscapes helping to create lasting memories for us.
We'll change trains and arrive in Wengen where we will stay for the next three nights.

Day 5 - Thursday 15 May 2025
Wengen - Jungfraujoch - Wengen (B,L,D)
This morning after breakfast, we'll take the train up to the top of Europe - The Jungfraujoch area in Switzerland is a stunning testament to nature's grandeur. Towering snow-capped peaks, including the iconic Jungfrau, Eiger and Monch create a breathtaking backdrop. Glacier-fed rivers wind through verdant valleys while pristine alpine meadows burst with vibrant flora. The ethereal beauty of this high-altitude wonderland captivates visitors, offering spectacular unparalleled views. We'll have free time to explore before lunch at a local restaurant before our journey back to Wengen.

Day 6 - Friday 16 May 2025

We have a full day at leisure today - perhaps do a gentle hike or walk a trail in the surrounding area, or simply explore this car-free town.

Day 7 - Saturday 17 May 2025
Wengen - Interlaken - Montreaux (B,D)
This morning after breakfast, our luggage will be picked up at the hotel so that we can travel via the Golden Pass Railway from Interlaken to Montreux.
Known for its Mediterranean-like climate and the famous Montreux Jazz Festival, this town's promenade is lined with flowers, sculptures, trees and beautiful buildings, as well as being the favourite holiday spot for many of the rich and famous.

Day 8 - Sunday 18 May 2025
Montreaux - Geneva - Grandvaux - Gruyères - Montreaux (B)
Today we'll enjoy a full-day excursion. Our first stop will be in Geneva where we will have a guided city tour including Jet d’Eu, the Cathedral of St. Pierre, the Place du Burg-de-Four and we will also visit a chocolate shop with a tasting.
Next, we will head to the town of Grandvaux where we'll visit a vineyard and enjoy a tasting of different wines accompanied by a Planchette Gourmand (Tenderloin of beef and smoked tomme cheese, bread).
Our last stop will be a visit to Gruyeres Castle before returning back to Montreux.

Day 9 - Monday 19 May 2025
Montreaux - Zermatt (B,D)
After breakfast, a morning at leisure before our afternoon rail journey to Zermatt.
Our luggage will again be transported for us from hotel to hotel.

Day 10 - Tuesday 20 May 2025
Zermatt (B)
Today we will take a trip to the highest mountain station in Europe at the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise.
We'll start with a short walk to the gondola station, then travel to 3,883m above sea level via cable-car, to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, where breathtaking views open up over the snow-covered peaks of the Alps and the iconic Matterhorn rises up majestically in the distance. We'll have incredible views from the platform surrounded by 38 mountains over 4,000 metres and 14 glaciers in 3 countries.
Later, we'll travel back down to Zermatt.

Day 11 - Wednesday 21 May 2025
Zermatt - Bad Ragaz (B, D)
This morning after breakfast and check out, we will take the famous Glacier Express from Zermatt to Bad Ragaz.
Our luggage will again be transported for us from hotel to hotel, as we enjoy this train journey through scenery that boasts spectacular panoramic views, bridges and tunnels.

Day 12 - Thursday 22 May 2025
Chur - Maienfeld - Chur (B, L)
Today we will take a short local train ride to the village of Maienfeld made famous by the beloved book, "Heidi".
Together with a local guide we'll walk along the Heid Trail and visit the Heidi House, set amongst the alpine meadows and forest. We'll also enjoy lunch here.
Later, we'll take the train back to Bad Ragaz .

Day 13 - Friday 23 May 2025
Chur - Innsbruck (B, D)
Today, we will take the train to Innsbruck in Austria (note that this journey requires two rail changes and as we're outside Switzerland we will have to take our luggage with us).
When we arrive in Innsbruck we will be transferred to our hotel with the remainder of our day at leisure.

Day 14 - Saturday 24 May 2025
Innsbruck - Fussen - Schwangau - Innsbruck (B)
Today, we'll travel to Fussen where its Gothic castle, Hohes Schloss, houses a regional art museum. The museum of St. Mang's abbey showcases Füssen's violin- and lute-making industry. We'll have free time to explore this quaint bavarian town including lunch before travelling to the eclectic Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenschwangau Castle which lie southeast of the town. The fairytale castle Neuschwanstein is a popular sight in Germany. The castle in Hohenschwangau (Bavaria) was built by order of King Ludwig II and the inspiration for the Disney Cinderella castle.
Returning back to Innsbruck with dinner at leisure tonight.

Day 15 - Sunday 25 May 2025
Innsbruck - Wattens - Salzburg (B)
Today we make our way to Salzburg. Salzburg, Austria, captivates with its enchanting beauty. Nestled amidst majestic alpine scenery, the city boasts baroque architecture, cobblestone streets, and the iconic Hohensalzburg Fortress. The Salzach River meanders through the city, enhancing its charm. From the historic Old Town to the panoramic vistas atop Untersberg Mountain, Salzburg mesmerizes visitors with its timeless allure.
Enroute, we'll visit the HQ of Swarovski, with time to explore their beautiful displays and for shopping.

Day 16 - Monday 26 May 2025
Salzburg - Hallstatt - Salzburg (B)
Today we'll enjoy a full day's sightseeing. In Salzburg we'll visit the main sights including the Mirabell Palace and Gardens and Getreidgasse. The Old Town of Salzburg is beautiful and there are many places of interest to enjoy.
This afternoon, we'll travel to the nearby town of Hallstatt a picturesque gem nestled by the Hallstätter Sea. Its fairytale-like charm emanates from colorful houses reflecting in the tranquil waters, embraced by towering mountains. The UNESCO World Heritage site boasts quaint streets, historic salt mines, and breathtaking vistas, making Hallstatt an idyllic destination to explore on foot.
Returning to Salzburg late afternoon with dinner at leisure tonight.

Day 17 - Tuesday 27 May 2025
Salzburg - Munich (B,D)
Today, we farewell Austria and head to Munich, Germany. Upon arrival, we'll be transferred to our hotel with the remainder of the day at leisure. Munich enchants with its blend of history, culture, and modernity. The city's grand architecture, including the iconic Neues Rathaus, harmonizes with lush parks like the English Garden. Vibrant markets, such as Viktualienmarkt, offer a feast for the senses.
Tonight, a farewell dinner to celebrate fun times with newfound friends.

Our last day in Munich. Free time before heading to the airport to begin our journey home.
